I want to make my own receipt nail, concept in picture.
I have a load of receipts floating around, with more coming every day. I think this could be a good way of staying organized while decorating my room.

Do you find it hard to avoid pointy objects in day to day life? or do you just impale yourself on anything you can get close to.

Really though, for some of the shit on this board If I can buy a better one for less than $2/hr of what it would take me to build one.....

This is you projecting your shit onto other people. This is /diy/, it is not, /buy it because I don't have time to diy/. Get a clue.

Sometimes it's important to know when to buy and when to /diy/

hey guys I want to make a contraption that will toast my bread on both sides at once. I'm gonna prefab the shell outta aluminum, source the heaters from china, and make my own mechanical timer....
All said supplies should run about $100-$300...

OR

I can buy a $10 toaster....

Sometimes buying makes more sense in the long run.

Find a book you really hate or could sacrifice. Hammer a nail through it and turn it pointy side up.
Bonus points if it's a carpentry book.
Or a wooden stake and vampire book.

Yet, you spend that time trolling /diy/. lol

>>130804
You have a throw away society mentality. You buy and when its broke to toss it out. You are the worst kind of person. If you buy something you don't learn anything. Meanwhile the person that makes it learns a set of skills and the toaster has a lot more meaning to them. If their toaster breaks down they fix it, though since they made it, it'll more than likely not break down at all.

You can take a coat hanger, straighten it, and then wind it around in whatever shape you wish similar to the one in the OP pic. you can make all sorts of bottom designs instead of a spiral. Stars, regular flat geometric shapes, etc. You could even make a multiple spiked one long enough to make your name with wire or the first letter of that spike's category.

Was thinking of running a stained dowel rod or a sharpened stick through a globe and mounting that on some sort of block to stabilize it.

That nail most likely got driven into it when it was being washed and the processing center. There's a corn processor near me and the owner tells me about shit that happens all the time, like frogs and other animals falling out of the wash tub looking all stunned and confused
