I've been Intrested in a chemist lab specifically
For
>gmo shit

>organic chemistry

Any gear suggestions or chemicals I'll absolutely need?

>GMO shit
Centrifuges, thermostats, PCR cyclers, flow boxes with UV irradiation, ice-maker machines, eppendorf tubes, automatic pippets, enzymes (VERY expensive), some other buffers and chemicals (QUITE expensive)
Also good luck with gathering proper material without gaining suspition from the offices, forcing you to pay fees in milions of dollars.

you wont ever be able, both knowledge wise and equiment, to ever do genetic modification

"biology shit", you can do if you want to do macro biology

You can do ochem but it's a lot of work, both mentally and physically. For glassware look on ebay: organic chemistry kit

You'll need an autoclave, use a pressure cooker for that

>> No.1279639

you dont have the money, intelligence, or space for a legitimate lab. stick to making sugar crystals in your moms saucepan

Win the lottery first. That shit is expensive. Seriously though, I work at a university in the Chemistry stockroom. Biological reagents are crazy expensive, like stuff under 1mL can be a few thousand dollars.

No, Use restriction enzymes to insert DNA into a vector with the end goal to modify the plant.

>1. Use NCBI for gene sequences.
>2. Learn how to DNA and protein.
>3. Get Eurofins to sequence DNA out for you.
>4. ???
>5. Profit

Kita are used in these days for the basic isolation of stuff. Doesn't work for everything but the wide variety of kits today makes the hands on lab work easier.

But for OP.
If you need to ask stuff you do then its going to be a struggle.

One thing that i learnt has been useful for me during my researcher days. I worked in a clean lab, pre-PCR, it was nice as I'm good at doing sterile work. This helps in for example brewing and growing shit that can't be contaminated.
