Fun, cheap, useful hobby.

Yes there is already a paracord thread where anon shows some sweet bullwhios and stuff. I encourage yall to check it out. I was thinking more beginer level tho. Useful shit like handle wraps, keychains, bracelets, gun slings, cord wraps etc...

Not that cool expert level projects aren't welcome. But i was more interested in basic shit again. Anyone ever done it?

SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT.

Hell its pretty usefull just to have or easy to wrao a steering wheel or gear shift and if u ever need rope just tare it off. Im not much a fan of jewelry but i do have my shifter wraped. Or did rather. Last week my neighbors dog got loose and wouldnt come to me. So i baited it with my lunch and tied it up with water in the shade on their front porch. They got home in 1 hour but didnt have to worry. And i had a camera on her so if the sun moved too much or she needed water i could call someone.

After much research it seams tritium bead inserts are illegal for us here in freedomland. At least not without metric tons of paperwork and shit. It seems we are allowed to have plastic encased keychains and such but not the small glas viles.

So do your own homework.

Also, for anyone where this shit is legal, if u break one RUN. The tritium gas inside can give u radiation sickness. U should be fibe from what i read just dont breath, kick doors open on the way outside, and let it air out.

Im told skin contact is no big but say u huffed one. Long slow painful death.

Again i am barely above potatoe intelligent. I just dont want anons hurt.

I'd imagine the swivel studs would strip the steel threads out before the barrel or receiver were damaged. Likely the loops the sling are threaded through would break before anything. Its 1/4's rod steel. I'm sure someone more in the know than I could find the most likely mode of failure. Either way, it would require more force than any human could survive without injury.

I've made 2 slings to date, its cheaper than buying a sling (even the cheapest ones) and doesn't look absolutely terrible.

paracord weaving is the gayest shit. the original point was to have something you could unravel into usable cordage, but none of these fuckers are ever gonna undo their precious sling or cheek weld or whatever, and carry a bundle of rope anyway.

Paracord looks absolutely terrible and is pretty slick to the touch. if you're going to make something out of some kind of cord, get a proper good looking or nice and grippy line for it, not literal polyester shoelaces

First attempt at a monkey fist. Only had black, but I ordered a couple more colours to try out. No jig, just fingers and started around a knot. Pretty sure it's bad, but not bad for first go.
