Can you even do anything with that? I thought I was bad, but this is hoarder level stuff. Even if you can do work in that, it would be very dangerous - plenty of stuff to get snagged, trip on, set on fire, etc.

You need to clean and organize that, ASAP. I sincerely doubt you are getting much done in that state, and if you are, having things organized and put away would likely double your productivity. Give everything a place, and put it in its place.

The only problem you have here is that there is no place for anything to belong. Hit up yard sales this weekend and grab some old shelves, bookcases, or metal racking for a few bucks, problem solved.

Computers that need to be worked on just sit on the floor. A big plastic jar full of different type of screws including screws for drywall and screws to be used with tin roofing. I still need to get some actual work tables built. I've spent more time collecting tools than woodworking at this point. About to throw the roommate's fucking treadmill away because I'm sick of it taking up floor space when I need to store lawncare shit in this garage as well as work on cars.

>I woulda just bought a section of pegboard and a basic peg kit for this task instead of screwing all those screws to a piece of plywood.

Screws in plywood/OSB is a popular way to do it.

I recently tore down my pegboard while building some tool cubbies because, holy shit, I fucking hate pegboard now. Every motherfucking time I go to grab something off it, at BEST I need two hands; one to get what I'm after, and one to keep the damn hook from falling out of the board. Knocking shit/hooks off the board got really old, and, after like two years of doing it, I regret deeply not switching to screws/plywood a long time ago.

It's just so much better. The idea of pegboard is that it's easy to rearrange things, but, honestly, I think I moved stuff around all of once. Which kind of makes sense...unless you organized so badly that it's slowing you down, there's not really any point in rearranging anything since you already know where your stuff is. Even if you do need to, an impact driver makes quick work of moving screws around.

hey /diy/kes

here mine a few weeks after i bought the place. 2 car garage, one 110v outlet. Built the 4x7' work bench on 6 casters out of scrap 3/4" ply.
