hey guys visitor from /ck/ here, not sure if this would be the right place for this but /diy/ is for solving practical problems so I figured you guys are my best bet.

surely you know the feeling of not wanting to get up to turn off lights, tv, computer, etc...
petty problem, I know. But with tools like amazon alexa seeing the day of light I wonder if there's any way I could make menial shit like that automated so I can use every millisecond of my time wisely.

I'm as layman as it gets, so I wouldn't know jack about my options.

tldr; can I make a remote control for everything in my household

inb4 OP is lazy nig nog

>What is the elecrtical outlet section at walmart

Timer, remote, wifi-enabled app remote outlets, etc

Just take an hour or two and check what all your local Walmart sells that youd never think of next time you get a DIY urge.

Not OP, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for home automation controllers. I just want to setup a security camera with "smart" functionality. Ie: motion sensor, notifications, etc.
