Alright motherfuckers, this aint a game no more. The commies are coming and soon we'll be having red star retards on our soil. Tell me how I can properly bury a shipping container underground. If we want to survive, we want to go underground so they dont find us and leave.

I guess it could work if you don't bury it or fill in the sides properly. Make the edge of the hole a birm so water doesn't run in, lay logs across the top and then a tarp. Then plant thousands of pricker bushes all around the area so no one will investigate.

I think the consensus on shipping containers is you can't use them underground. Since containers are designed to place all their load on the corners, covering the roof with soil will collapse the container. You'd have to reinforce the roof, which defeats the purpose of using a container as a single item solution.

A better underground structure idea is a dome.

Put it upside down solve half the problem. If your soil is hard and you made a just fit hole you can bury your shit.

If you're making a bunker of multiple shipping containers, it would actually be feasible to construct a collapsable metal frame that supports the inside of the container while you pour reinforced concrete around it. You'd then remove the frame and put it into the next container, both making a container bunker that is strong and one that is not obsoletely reinforced with steel around the container.

maybe you could hide the entrance with the shipping container

If you want a bunker look into precast concrete panels some are strong enough for parking structure levels and probably better strength to price than adequately reinforcing a shipping container.

Serious thought here: why not just put cement around the container before you bury it? Maybe even do it in layers so the container has a better chance of not collapsing? ie: 3 inches of concrete, let dry, add another 3 inches etc...

Because the roofs of shipping containers aren't designed to take weight, you probably want to build some sort of A-frame or arch over your bunker. Frankly, if you are going to do that, you might as well not bother with the shipping container to begin with

Aight, step one: Use anything other than a fucking shipping container.
If you have to use a shipping container, because you're stupid, then dig the hole, put the container in, and SLOWLY pour a quarter inch of concrete around the edges. Let it set.
Then, do the same thing. You might also wanna pressurize the container/fill it with bricks just to be super sure it doesn't crush.
Now keep going, up to the roof, and do the roof 3mm at a time, put beams over the top of it and lay metal sheets on it. The beams should be supported by the concrete on the edges.

>> No.1149537

Everyone who wants to bury a container should do so! Follow your dreams and ignore the haters. Your initiative will be rewarded with success!

Numerous containers survived direct hits from 30mm A-10 "Warthog" cannon during the Iraq war. The springy corrugations dissipate energy and the projos bounce off. The immortal Corten steel shells last centuries even without paint, which is only decorative. The US Navy has a fleet of containers at the bottom of the Marianas trench where they dock submarines made from containers for underwater replenishment. Hawaii successfully used lava flow to encase containers to make attractive tourist lodges. Transatmospheric scramjet powered containers have been developed into launch platforms for smaller containers to be used in the post-Brexit EU space containerstation. North Korea replaced their old dug shelters under mountains with containers painted like mountains. (The insides are painted with cute anime characters to boost morale.) Elon Musk prototyped an electric container to replace the Tesla since the container is more aesthetically appealing than the car and has a lot more battery room. The mayor of Detroit has decided to replace his decaying city with containers. The old buildings will be demolished and the rubble hauled off in other containers, loaded onto rafts made of containers, and shipped to China via the St. Lawrence seaway where it will be ground up and the metal residue used to make more containers. US Navy SEALS stealthily infiltrate enemy ports using containers cunningly disguised as containers. Israel is solving the Palestinian problem by storing them in containers. (Germany tried to solve the Jewish problem using wooden freight cars, but the container hadn't been invented yet.) Donald Trumps border wall will be easily affordable if built from containers. Any Beaners who slip in by other routes can be detained in containers then trucked to Beanland where containers will be donated as housing.

Insulating concrete form or insulated concrete form (ICF) is a system of formwork for reinforced concrete usually made with a rigid thermal insulation that stays in place as a permanent interior and exterior substrate for walls, floors, and roofs. The forms are interlocking modular units that are dry-stacked (without mortar) and filled with concrete. The units lock together somewhat like Lego bricks and create a form for the structural walls or floors of a building. ICF construction has become commonplace for both low rise commercial and high performance residential construction as more stringent energy efficiency and natural disaster resistant building codes are adopted. ICFs may be used with frost protected shallow foundations.
