So I'm trying to at least DIY my centerpieces for next December wedding, anyone know cheap feather sellers or anything else about Floralytes?
Pic related: it's a centerpiece I really like

y'know, I went to a wedding last month and the best damn thing (apart from everything else) was the following

1) open bar

2) the centerpiece for each table were three tall vases filled with those cheap growing gell balls that my drunken family immediately proceeded to throw at each other - then they filled the vases with whatever drink they could get their hands on and got shitfaced

It was awesome, so if your guests are the kind to pull that kind of shit I say be kind to them and give them vases.

lol the only issue I've ever seen my family have was trying to make centerpiece goldfish drunk and fail which is why I was looking for something tall that would keep them at bay about messing with it.
Never.Open.Bar.EVER.
Mexicans will bankrupt you, nice life tip.
BYOB, much more sensible.

You either have money or don't have a family that starts with 14 original brothers and sisters just on your dad's side. I'll stick to BYOB.

Ohh, my condolences. The family is French and Spanish on one side and Russian on the other, so yeah - fuckers drank EVERYTHING. I heard the groom actually got an all-you-can-drink-(you-disguting-drunkard) sort of deal, so it was cool.

I like the effect the picture's centerpieces have with the light. Are you going to do something similar? As for feathers, I wouldn't recommend real ones if there's someone on the guest list with allergies. Or just in case if you're not sure.

Yep, I think I'm planning on this one, the feathers is the biggest investment/needs the most attention. I Think artificial would be best since I'm not sure about allergies, I may not be having an all-you-can-drink but we will have a gourmet candy buffet as the party favors.

Niiice! The shame about feathers is that they're expensive no matter what, and not exactly easy to make at home. I found this place so you can compare prices and variety http://www.featherplace.com/ic/fp/product/Ostrich-Feathers/

Still not cheap, but cheaper than flowers at least!

I wonder why they're so expensive..I think I'll be cutting back on flowers anyways, they're so cheap on normal occasions but slap "wedding" to them and they're just unbearable.

Yeah, unless it's done in the open with really laid back flowers, they tend to be a tad overused.
