So I have had this for a pretty long time, never figured out what I should make with it.

any thoughts?

just cause its not a raspberry pi doesn't mean its worthless. fuck off cunt. you're probably only saying that cause you wouldn't be able to do anything with it. I just don't want to waste it on something stupid.

i did google it, all the stuff that people have made are dumb. I don't wanna waste it on that when i can probably make something not worthless.

It's because
>I want to be creative, give me ideas
You didn't give any info on your skill level,
And We've seen this thread repeatedly.
I wouldn't call it cancer, just a bit annoying because "oh this thread again"

If you want help with some specific problem, anons will help.

>>1037739
Now this is cancer.
Reminds me of /g/ tier elitism.
You don't need skills, tools, or money for /diy/, If they're limited, OP just needs to say so.
Nothing wrong with uC threads as long as they're not "have this, wat do?". uC threads here are what got me started using them. Some anon was kind enough to post some simple sample code so I could see if I might be interested, because searching was an overwhelming info overload.
Due to that, I've since been able to share an interesting project with both /g/ and /diy/. Also was able to identifty explain sony's infrared encoding to someone just trying to record it, and make suggestions on how to just generate the codes rather than recording them. I also rediscovered my love for programming.
All because a simple question was answered for me amongst the cries of "google it".

Perhaps follow that pics advice:
>hide that thread

If you drive a Volkswagen, you can make a remote door lock that's better than the factory one...

Arduinos are fun, and they get you introduced to the concept of micro controllers and what you can do with them.

Most of my projects revolve around lighting shit up because that's what appeals to muh autism.

You'll probably run into a bunch of faggots here who are like "tarduino? LOL be a real man and do X, Y, or Z" Don't let these faggots get to you. Most are mad children that they don't even have the technical skills to use a simple micro controller. Also don't let them dictate how far you want to take your hobby/project.

You may wind up liking electronics so much that you decide that you need to learn more to complete your next project. For me I had to take that next jump for my Nixie clock. I couldn't do everything with just the Arduino alone. You may eventually get there, you may decide the projects you want to do are fine with just Arduino. Point is, fuck what other people say an do things you consider fun.

he'd say the same if you asked this about a raspberry pi.
It's just that this question comes up to often and people are fed up with it. It's in the same category as
>I have x amount of y, what can I do with it.
You give zero information about what you'd like to do and expect creativity because you bought someting you can't imagine a use for.

>too poor and inexperienced

If you want to fuck around buy an Arduino, 5V power supply (or use one from an old phone charger), and buy some Nixie Numitrons (about $1-$2 per tube). You may also need some shift registers depending on how many tubes you want to control. That setup in my gif is one regular IV-12A tube and 4 numitrons, controlled by an arduino and 4 shift registers. All in all the entire set up can be purchased for <$50 including shipping.

While numitrons aren't "true" nixies they are fun as fuck to play with, only 5V, cheap and widely available on ebay, and will give you a good intro into electronics.
