believe it or not, i once fixed a crt tv with it (back in the nineties). channel switcher was loosey-goosey sometimes the tv wouldnt get any reception (solder joints between channel switch daughter board and main pcb broken). i was out of solder so i just strapped some of that twine around the daughter board pcb and tied the other end to the bottom of the case insides, making sure it stayed somewhat tight.
completely forgot about it the next day (was supposed to go get some solder to properly fix that) till the crt broke for good about 5 years later or so. good times

Considering that the ground wire, which is bare inside the shower head, can be broken/encased in some deposit, or tampered with, they can be very dangerous.

I worked at a chevy garage when gm first did the switch over to dexcool. For one, chevys always had sort of a weak spot in their intake manifold gaskets, didn't matter what engine, they always went bad. Second, the first formulation of dexcool was awful and would go bad after 30k miles at best.

I would get brand new cars in, 3000 miles on them, and pull the drain plug and get pure coolant coming out like this. Half of the cars that were still in warranty would have their oil steaming as it came out because there was so much coolant in it. It was even dumber because unless there was pure coolant coming out of the oil pan, warranty wouldn't cover it.

I felt bad for anyone who bought gm cars from that time, those things were fucked from the start. Of course, unless the owner changed over to regular coolant right from the start, they'd be fine, but it would void their warranty.

That too. Dad is an architect and has to deal with both pants on the head construction workers who think they know shit and stupid clients who aslo think they know shit.

Houses here are made of fired clay bricks. It's not africa tier (if used right they are very comfy) but people here is retarded
>dad: Okay I made this plan where you use BRICKS MADE SPECIFICALLY TO CARRY PIPES AND ELECTRICAL DUCTS AND HAVE OPENING FOR ELECTRICAL PLUGS
>Contractor: wtf I don't do this, what? Do you want me to think? I will just buy the same kind of brick, make a wall, then destroy the 2/3 of said wall to pass pipes and wires and cover in mortar : )
The result is that they buy materials to make 2 buildings and throw half away instead of properly planning things.

I made a picture series of changing the worn out disks, calipers, and pads on my car, with the intention of posting it here on 4chan as a simple "Today I did this, and now you know how to do it too".

Sadly I was too busy facepalming myself red and swearing, to take a picture of my car having fallen off of the jack with one of the rear wheels missing. Damn I felt retarded: Having carefully loosened the parking brake to be able to turn the wheel around, I forgot to pull it back up before going into the rear to get some stuff.

No damage, and the picture series turned out fine, but I believe the wheel base shoved/buried in my driveway gravel would fit in this thread.

I might get around to actually posting the picture series one day.

I don't think so. My dad nor I took pictures, the wall was alright as far as I remember. The problem was a painter who was semi-literate or didn't cared and just painted it with the color that was near him at the time.

aren't there grounding antenna/spike/whiskers on aircraft wingtips to allow lightning to ground?

chassis 'ground' != an actual ground

they are dissipating the voltage spike through the entire chassis/frame by heat.

isn't that literally the point of "earth ground" as opposed to literal electrical ground

What the fuck dude. Aircraft gets hit by lightning and it's turned to heat? Really? They just manage the voltage spike so it doesn't fuck shit up on the plane. There are some whiskers that are there just so the plane doesn't buildup a lot of charge as it moves. Some have shielded conduits and some weird materials to help with lightning too. But heat? nope.

>> No.1045255

>>1045254
The whiskers are called static wicks. They just make sure the electrical discharges (due to charge buildup) happen in the right way in the correct places so the noise doesn't fuck radio up.
