>This thing ends up being about 3/4" thick on the walls and is literally bullet proof
>Engineers then decide they want to save weight, so they make the bearing mounts out of 1/4" A36 bent into U shapes like pic related except there's four on each side and they stick out about 2 and 1/2 feet off the wall
>We hook up the linkage and big beefy ass electric motor to actuate this thing
>It opens halfway, every single one of the mounts deflects about 6", and the whole thing binds up
>The engineers can't understand why their pussy ass mounts can't handle the torks
>We end up welding C-channel to the top and bottom of all the mounts to tie them together
>We spent days fucking with their shitty design just so they could cut a few hundred pounds of weight off of a 10ton part
