That job in particular, the inspector made us sheath the pipe with pic related anywhere it was closed in. Most of this flex pipe was in crawlspaces anyway, just 1 run up a 2x6 wall to get from the basement crawlspace to the attic. Probably wouldn't stop a determined idiot, but a stray drywall screw wouldn't go through it.
