Hair spray is quite a pain to ignite since it also contains water, and its quite hard to get the mixture right, there is also lots of residues afterwards. One of the best options is alcohol, but it needs compression to reach its full explosive potential.
The very best option is HHO, but it'll probably blow the thing in your hands.
If the igniter is old, the spark will take more hits to ignite the mixture.
