T444E is ok in the shorter buses, avoid in the bigger ones as its a complete dog.

In general expect to pay around $3500 for a decent bus with a good powertrain and a non-rotted out body. Again this heavily depends on location and if you're willing to travel. I suggest checking out the auction sites (Gov Deals, Public Surplus, 422 Sales, Purple Wave like the one anon mentioned already)
