I'm building my own quadrotor at the moment. I went with a very small 7" frame using carbon fiber rods, but you'll probably want to go with something larger and sturdier. For the electronics, I designed my own PCB, which does save cost quite a bit.

I'm probably the same guy. The quadrotor is fairly small, about 7" long.

OP, I'm building mine from scratch for <$200.
It's hard to put a good number on the price, since I spent lots of money on miscellaneous parts and tools.

Frame is built with carbon fiber rods, brushless motors + controllers, and a custom-made PCB with an accel and gyro on it.

I'm working on a quadrotor that uses the XMEGA. which is somewhat related. I have an Arduino Uno that I play around with from time to time, but I usually end up designing a board for my projects.

At the moment, chassis is complete, while I'm still checking over my schematic.

I'm building a quadrotor UAV.

SMT; attached is my earlier non-working prototype of a board that uses the Parallax Propeller.

I *have* been sucking TI's rhetorical MSP430 cock for a long time, and it's all very well documented, but it all seems so complex. I had to leaf through pages just to figure out ePWM. It's a good suggestion though; I'll keep it in mind.

Sup /diy/,
What do you think of my quadrotor in progress?
About 7" long, frame cut out of carbon fiber rods and plexiglass. I made a custom control board that uses a Parallax Propeller along with a 3-axis magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope.

I made some mistakes on the board, so it isn't flying yet, and I'm considering switching to an ARM core. Propeller seems easier to work with, but I've heard both good and bad about it. Any thoughts/experiences with ARM?
