I love shortwave and ham radio but have only ever lived in relatively rural areas. I may have to relocate in the nearish future to a dense city, think something like NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, etc.

Can someone help give me a crash course in using radios in a dense urban environment?

I have an MLA-30+ which should help with the shortwave I imagine.

Will a unidan bearcat police scanner work as usual?

Thanks anons

btw, it was a 6 meter x 1 meter structure with four ties to the wall, two at the bottom two at the top, but I had to join two 3 2" x 4" because they asked me to reuse old material. I don't think one day and a half to measure, design, select material, clean it, take off other welded bits, cut (stupid table saw couldn't cut the whole beam in one pass) prep, and fit was too much was it? I had to do half of all cuts by hand.

OR am I really useless as a welder? :(
