>have to take over an electrical project from someone else
>he buried the temp power and telephone to the gc's trailer but didnt put the warning tape in the trench above it
>FFW 2 months
>have a newish apprentice that seems like he just doesnt have a clue
>later I figure out he has a bad drinking problem and is either hung over everyday or going through the DT's
>I have him trenching along and gonna cross our temp line.
>you can actually see the dip in the ground from where the trench is
>I warn him about 25 feet away that he needs to skip the dip area and explain why
>20 minutes later he has a bunch of wire spun up in the chain of the trencher
>ask him to stay late and fix it with me... nope got shit to do
>I end up working for 5 hours to fix this shit
>the asshole comes in late the next day too
>FFW another 3 months
>talk to dumb mexican landscaper tell him whats up with the temp line, the dip in the ground is still there
>he goes right through it not even a day later
>only 3 hours to fix it
>one week later he trenches through it again only 10 feet away from where he hit it last time

Basically the lack of a $7 roll of warning tape cost the company around $1000 in labor and material.
