I do it because I'd rather feel a little extra cold every now and then, instead of fucked up arthritis crippling me.

Also, about heating up the car, make sure not to leave alone while running. So many people do it, and it creates an excellent opportunity for someone to steal your car. So just make sure someone (not a thief) is in the car while it's being heated up.

they are, I've used them to make bongs many a time, I'd say about 1.5mm thick aluminium. However over here in the uk, other than coke during the olympics and a coors promotion that lasted 3 weeks and never came back, we don't normally have them.
Although as an aero engineer I still can't figure out how this it a "jet burner", and why so much effort is put in. It seems a hobo stove wold be much better.

Two weeks is pretty excessive you would probably end up having to hunt, carrying the necessary food and supplies to survive that long would be extremely heavy. I've gone on four day hike and camp trips and the pack weighed about 50 pounds, that was with two people having 50-60lb packs.

None the less, dehydrated foods, water bottles that have built in carbon filters, camping supplies, and depending on if where you are lets you build fires, supplies for that.. ex: hatchet, fire starting tools. If they don't let you build fires you need to get a gas stove, or you can make one like in my pic. Guinness cans work great for these. I'd do some research on these on some backpack forums, there are better ways to make them (like with the Guinness can).

Make sure you have proper clothing; don't wear cotton, get thick thick thick socks and some nice shoes.

Some places will pay you for recycling. You can cut off the top and bottom with a snips and you have a sheet of easily workable metal, there's a lot of things you can make out of that, just google 'aluminum can crafts' or whatever. Or you could make hobo stoves, pic related.
