this thread reminds me of my youth, visiting my grandmother's place in the summer. She lived across from a dairy farm, and so there were great stretches of field for the cattle to roam. Along one of the fields, there ran a small road for maybe one to two miles, right on the edge. Halfway down it got real close to a small nearly stagnant brook the cows would tread through and, on occasion, shit. So, when I passed, what I would do is take rocks (the bigger the better) and heave them high up into the air to make a nice satisfying plop in the cowpies. The resulting craters were ugly and gross, just like this thread.
