I'm not a lock guru, but I did work on cylinder locks for a year or two. The first thing you should do is read up on different types of locks and how they work. Know their mechanics inside and out. This will give you a better understanding of what you're trying to do when you actually pick a lock. Some locks like the kind you find on car doors you don't even need picks to defeat. Masterlocks, unless they've changed in the past ten years, I've defeated with a simple paperclip. I managed to totally fuck up the springs in the process so try to work on old locks or have backup parts like pins, springs, and the little metal clips that hold everything together. All of that stuff can be found in rekey kits you can buy over amazon.

Anyone have any experience making bump keys? I want one, but want to make my own.

Anyone know how hard they are to make?
