Eh I'll probably toss a new valve cover gasket at it anyhow and set the valve lash while I'm in there...

I'm going to shorten it up and put a small flatbed on it. Basically it will be a trailer puller. If I happen to fall into a sweet deal on a knuckleboom crane I might be persuaded to add one of those behind the cab.

I have this 1995 F-800 for service truck duty and am in the process of painting it. Hoping I can run up to the shop this afternoon and get the final coat on the cab. Then I just have some shields and other misc small parts to paint.

>Pilot holes for fence posts

WAT?

fence posts don't need pilot holes. Either you drive the post directly into the ground, or on bigger posts you dig a hole with a post hole digger and then set it. Neither of which require a "pilot hole"

This one is a pretty big crane, Extends out like 40' or 45' and has a load rating of over a ton when fully extended and horizontal to the ground. With the boom retracted and lifted up almost straight it is supposed to have like a 20,000lb lifting capacity. I'll have to double check the load charts again to be sure. It has a boom rest that keeps it up out of the way of the bed.

It is an old lineman digger derrick truck so it also has the hydraulic post hole digger on it. Came with an 18" auger and will dig down about 12 feet by extending the auger out to the last hole on the hex shaft.

I also plan on using it to set posts and trusses on a storage container shed that I'll be building.

Here's another pic of it right after I got it before I started cutting stuff off of it and fixing it up how I wanted it to be.
