Pretty neat setup. I've been in workshops with water wheel power setup in a similar manner. That room should be fairly quite since there's no motors/engines. Well, "quite" in comparison to today's machinery anyway. Unless someone is hammering, you probably wouldn't need ear plugs there.

lol Yeah. At least someone can disengage those more easily than one like in this webm. The main dangerous parts are on the ceiling since those drive shafts don't ever stop and getting them to stop would take quite a while.

Dremels are pretty safe even when you totally fuck up. The worst that can happen is not wearing safety gear and getting something in the eye. Second worst is having long hair get tangled in it. Third is tapping yourself with one of the wood saw blades. After that, just hearing protection, there's nothing that can harm you unless you are trying to do harm or you are a complete idiot. So long as you have the proper protection (ear plugs, face sheild, eye goggles, mask for dust) and are taking proper breaks you won't get hurt. If you are using a wire wheel or cup I also suggest gloves, otherwise, no gloves are needed.

I mean it isn't like you are working a lathe or anything.

This.

Never work with someone who disregards safety for any reason. Not only are they putting themselves at risk, but they are putting you at risk too. That's very disrespectful to you.
