Not a hard design to do. Just a buch of notches really. Built mine beefy. 3x9 posts with 9x9 legs. As anon has said, elephants could fuck on it

Beds are, in my opinion, the most obvious diy bang for your buck opportunity. The big box furniture stores are selling cardboard for gold.

I think the best part about large furniture projects is that you can always use them to learn new techniques in the process. By the time your finished, not only does the project usually differ from the vision, but you already have a mental list of things you can improve on the next one. The one downside for me is I never have the budget for a "next one" lol

Unfortunately, our bed is still my most recent project. We started house shopping about the time I finished the frame, so the shop has been mostly packed up since. We've been in the new house for about a month, so should be able to set up and finish the head board soon enough.

Unfortunately I still work with pine and ply mostly, as anything else is cost prohibitive on projects that aren't for sale, which is pretty much all of them. I would like to take on larger projects like beds and tables but I would need to find a good source so that I dont need to sell for an arm and a leg to break even.

Like other anon said, good first attempt but needs refinement. Like he said, round overs are your friend. They give any peice a more professional feel.

My bed that I just finished. Still needs a headboard.

This is why I beefed the hell out of mine when I built it
