About electric showerheads...

They are turned on by water flow. A diaphragm, pressured by the water, closes the circuit which feeds a resistance(pic related). The resistance heats the water and allows only a very small current through, which can only be felt if you touch the showerhead or the water handle (this last case only happening if it's also not grounded). The main risks are if the installation is done niggeriggedly like >>1006671 or if somehow the water contacts the circuit above the diaphragm, which I have never heard of. Though I did hear of people that managed to get poisoned by the gases coming from their water heaters, kek.
Also, constructions norms here request the use of a residual-current circuit breaker, which should cut the current immediately if you get shocked. However, most of our contractors don’t even know what the word “norm” means.
