Many old phones have these connectors, including my old Samsung Galaxy S3 (the phone in >>2598127 is probably a more recent Samsung) and also my old Sony Ericson P1i (cover barely visible up left from the camera).

I opened my P1i and it looks like SMA male, about 4 mm across.

So what is the reason we cannot have HF radios in small portable form factors as in pic. related? Is it the inductors?

A 1 W QRP transceiver would be fine with me. As for smart phone format we shouldn't forget that it is not that long ago since smart phones featured scroll wheels, pic. related. In fact it is far more comfortable to hold in your hand than most modern smart phones.
