I finished my own tallbike just two hours ago. I rode it around for a few hours last weekend, then I decided to bolt a car battery and lights from a police car to it.

I get about two feet, came crashing down and fucked up my knee really good. Its really top heavy, and hard to get it moving with that big lead acid battery.

The pan has gotten better, and I can limp at at a reasonable speed, but the worrying thing is this crazy spasm in one of the muscles of my lower leg if I put weight on it the wrong way.

Hey /diy/hards.

My party bike is close to finished. It's a tall bike with an old set of police car lights on the front. I just need to finish installing a stereo where the siren used to go, and I'd like to die the clear plastic covering the lights.

Two issues:
The piece of metal that covers the siren has some holes punched into it for letting sound out, but only on one side (old siren just faces forwards). I could drill holes in the other side, but even with a drill press that's always turned into a horrible ugly mess for me. I just can't get holes to line up well enough to look good.

2)
I've dyed clear plastic before with a pot of boiling water and rit dye, but these pieces are too huge for that. The only pot I've seen big enough is $70. Any other way to dye clear plastic? I can't have them be red, blue, yellow or any other color used on real emergency equipment. Probably purple or green.
