Actually, the motherboard & peripherals are all in working order. I already replaced the PSU in my gf's mom's computer with one from another working unit (which I got for $60 from Craigslist, which also works, but now is missing a PSU).

Besides, both units are beyond their warranties.

So... How about it? Do you think that there's a fuse or some other protection circuit that I can repair, or would it be the rectifier that I need to fix? fyi, I'm in ee, so I don't give a fuck if PSU repair "isn't recommended" & you're too scared to actually be useful.
