Charging li ions is simple, I still don’t understand lead acids. This thing seems to dip down close to 10v so not sure if it’s a dead cell and I will blow it up at 14v or what. That’s why I’m only charging it at 500mA though.

If it has a dead cell, the other 5 will still put out some decent current or no? The original youtube vid I saw had the guy recommending a ~100cca battery to spot weld those strips so I was hoping this dumpster battery would maybe do that. I think that I ran 10AWG or 12AWG to those little nails and I put it through a relay that was rated at 40A so who the fuck knows.

When I originally tried it with no relay or switches and just a couple short lengths of wire, it blew holes through the nickel. When I put everything together with more wire, it took like 1.5sec to start melting it with some random bits of metal.
