At the bare minimum you will need voltage regulation so your 10Kmah cell isn't overcharging your 2500mah. Which is why your previous setup caught fire.

Look up "voltage regulator circuit".

In general it is a bad idea to put LiIONs in unregulated parallel. You can get away with it if the batteries are the same model and from the same production run. Even in that case it's not a great idea.
