What I named are really the only things necessary...
If you want to branch into teddy bears/kids toys you might do well with some doll joints. Gives it a classy old-school antique feel. Also acrylic safety eyes are a god-send. You should buy the clear ones and paint them yourself since it's much cheaper. You just dab some acrylic paint on the back and seal them. Bam! Done.
I'd also highly recommend you learning how to embroider.

Does anyone on /diy/ sell their own stuff? Have any experience with Etsy or similar sites?
I've done a few sales with people I know/people they know, but mostly I end up giving things away to people, which, as a great a way to make friends, with such positive responses I wonder if it wouldn't be better to try and sell some of the stuff I make instead of letting it sit around until someone's birthday or someone has a baby or something. How does it work with shipping? How do you decide prices/shipping fees?
For a little reference I mostly do crochet/knit items, sometimes stuffed animals. Pic is one that was made for a friend's almost 1yr old. Has withstood her and the washer...

Anyone have any good ideas on making a great teddy bear or realistic cat body?
Every attempt at a realistic cat body comes out as too dog-like. Would be nice if I could get patterns, but suggestions from people more experienced are also very much appreciated.
Picture remotely related, baby toy for a friend's kid.
