i have a block of uncolored (clear) paraffin wax. are there any diy ways to color it?

i don't mean "hurr buy the wax coloring kits" i'm talking something along the lines of using food coloring or paint or some shit.

i'm using it to dip the neck of some wine bottles (already corked) and would like something more classy than clear wax. so i'm not worried about something that would be toxic to burn.
