I worked for a family owned computer shot, lets see how they compare...
>They'll string you along like you will one day be part of the family but make no mistake. You are not and will never be family.
this was not a thing and I never expected it.
>Because you aren't family you won't get paid like family.
correct, I got paid more.
>Because you aren't family you won't get promoted like family.
I became the service manager over all the other techs and employees who were family
>Because you aren't family you are always wrong. Especially when you can prove them wrong (all the fucking time).
also wrong, My opinion and input was very valued.
>Because you aren't family, when you actually do wrong, it's an attack on the whole family.
nope.
>Because you aren't family every single one of those dumb fucks will be your boss.
also nope, quite the opposite.
>Because you aren't family, you are the only person who can actually do their fucking job.
also no.
>Because you aren't family you don't have seniority. Your rank among the dirty non-family peasants depends on how much the family likes you.
or in my case how well I did my job.
>Because you aren't family you have no job security. Ever. For any reason. Maybe among non-family plebs but they'll cut even essential workers to keep a useless potato with a family name employed.
The only reason I was laid off was the owner had brain cancer and started wanting to do weird shit that wasn't going to work (I found out a year later when he died and his wife called me).
>Because you aren't family all you can do is watch the business get run into the ground or sold off.
not while I was there, only after I left and the owner died.
>Nepotism will tear it apart .
not at all the case
>If it's not your family it's not your job.
and this is wrong too.

imagine that. of all the jobs I had, the one that was family owned was great to work for. what are the odds?

>boomers are either buying shitty fucking LEDs or they're just making things up and exaggerating things because they don't like change.
nice fan fiction.

I have marked bulbs with the date they were installed, I started doing this with CFL's and then LEDs. I found that they all lied. no CFL lasted longer than 2 years unless installed in a free-standing position with the bulbs pointing up and air flowing around them. Any bulbs enclosed in any type of light fixture (even large in ceiling cans) rarely lasted more than 2 years.

The same with LED's in the same light fixtures. The only LED bulb I have that has lasted longer than 5 years (still going) is an early model one with a heat sink around the base, I think it cost something ridiculous and I got it from my mother (whom you would call a boomer).

I have tried name brand and cheap chinesiums. when they die (CFL or LED) I open them up to see why and they all died from the same causes: overheated components, failed electrolytic's, often the electrolytic’s were rated at 85° c when they should have been rated at 150° c. Also using an infrared imaging device I measured LED bulbs (base) tilted at a downward 45° angle in open globes, under a ceiling fan that was running at over 247° f.

I drilled holes to allow air movement from the inside of the globes upwards but that did little to reduce the heat.

The bulbs are over driven. the more expensive the bulb the harder they are to open and repair.
case in point Philips 800lumens 8.5w 2700k 125ma UL 3PM5 the components are mounted inside a press fit very soft aluminum shell that cannot be opened without destroying it. the bulb in question could be easily repaired if you could get in to it, and they do NOT want you fixing them. inb4 liability. FUCK your liability.

I worked for a company for 12 years. I was the "go to" guy there. was paid real well. but was working my ass off (so was my boss).

boss acted like I was irreplaceable. he hired an office manager who had a secret agenda to hire all his crony friends (found out later). This guy systematically went through and got rid of all the old guard.

You start with the big guy first (to keep the little guys scared) the big guy was me.

my boss didn't fight for me. I later found out my boss was using everyone around him, including his family to get clients, money and prestige.

You are replaceable and your boss doesn't give a shit about you.

>Some of my best work.
lets look at that shall we?
200 watt solar panels cost $249 and weigh 27lbs each you have 10 so you are adding an additional 270 pounds to the car and don't get me started on the drag this will induce.

then you want to generate hydrogen and oxygen (on the fly) and pump it in to the engine?

oh and you are hauling a trailer that weight at a minimum of 500lbs.

all this to supposedly increase mpg by 50%? the drag alone would reduce it by about 50%.

it really is obvious you have no idea what you are doing.

nice powtoons presentation seems forced and stilted.

>This is a multiplayer game that allows your kids to explore and realize the impact of their choices on the environment and how they can create change for the better.
change that to read, this is a propaganda film designed give children one more thing to worry over that can't do anything about.

no I would not buy it, or even take it for free. or even if you paid me.

You have absolutely no idea how deep the rabbit hole is that you want to go down. You're going to trace down every little bit of phone construction. I don't think so tim.

>non-lethal yet effective weapon
That's kid of an oxymoron.

basically kiddo (can I call you kiddo?) Modifying something like that to shoot anything other than what it was designed to shoot opens you up to a whole world of hurt because if you shoot someone with it, and they die or are otherwise maimed with infection or whatever they can sue your stupid ass and say that you designed that to kill or maim. Doesn't matter if you did or not it only matters what the jury will believe.

Also if you were stupid enough to pull that out and try to point it at a cop POPPOPPOP dead anon.

Lets say you use it on an intruder, unless you shoot some mother fucker and either kill him instantly or cause him so much pain he drops on the floor and writhes around in agony. That dudes going to keep coming and beat the ever luvin' shit out o' you.

Let me put some things in to perspective for you skippy.

I have no idea if I interacted with you at any time previous. If I did then man up and stop crying.

Let me "condescendingly" explain why you received the response that you did.

You are asking a question with serious ramifications in the real world. One does not willy nilly build airplanes with answers one receives on a back water shitty second rate image board. If one was actually serious about this one would seek out a real experimental aircraft forum and talk to people that you can hopefully verify their expertise.

While it is possible to get reasonable and even good advice on this board I would NEVER expect it. Most of the time you will get good advice if you respond to questions (no matter how stupid or irritating you think they are) with a cool and level head. IF you don’t get reasonable help here well “nothing personal kid”. Personally as a licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic I would not think of asking an aircraft related question here EVER.

You claim to be the designer yet you’re asking for help on 4chan? Really? This is the first clue that you are of low intellectual stock (means you are a dummy).

You are asked for a picture of the plane you intend to build and direct me to the original picture OF NOT A PLANE. Such information would be needed to consider the efficacy of using CF in it and how (but you already knew that).

My statement still stands you have no way of knowing if anyone here knows anything about airplane design or is just spouting words they read on Wikipedia.

Community? Really? Did you just come here from weenie forum junior or something? EVERY board on this site is a troll board. Expect it.

these are the items I can identify:
pipe wrench, drill chuck, wrench, side cutters, valve, coping saw, wrench, some kind of multi wrench, butter knife, wrench, socket, locking pliers?, nother pipe wrench, leg hold trap, wrench, nail puller or possibly fence pliers, nother socket, wrench, some kind of shackle or harness part, part of a jack?, hole cutter?, socket, wrench, small adjustable wrench, possibly a soldering iron, part of a harness, and 2 more wrenches.

nothing in that pile looks like it would be worth the time to clean and repair. maybe the fence pliers just for fun.

oh, and it was a pain in the ass to setup. The toy trains I had back then were WAY easier. Just push track together connect wires put train on track play with train.

The monorail toy was finicky, a pain to put together fell over too easy, fell of the tubing and was generally NOT FUN to play with.

You are a fucking moron.

If op has a heater that uses say 12v at 1 amp would need a 12ohm resistor to produce 12 watts.
if you reduce the voltage to 8 volts the amps will still be the same and you will need a 4 ohm resistor that will need to dissipate 4 watts of power.

net wattage is 12 watts. Sure it will only blow 8 watts of heat out the front but it still will generate 12 watts of heat in total.

Thus endeth the lesson.

>>1904370
>I have a degree in EE, faggot
I've known a few EE's they are stupid mother fuckers. some of them don't even know what a linear power supply is or how to make one. I actually had an EE (when I told him I had just built a power supply) ask "if I used a raspberry pi or arduino" to build it. he was astounded that I built a regulated power supply without any computers. it fucking boggled his mind.

saying you have an EE but spouting off know nothing bullshit does not help you.

If OP wants to reduce the amount of heat. The easiest thing to do is reduce the voltage output of the power supply by adding diodes to drop the voltage (assuming DC output to the heating elements) OR add dropping capacitors (for AC).

diodes in series will drop the voltage in .7 volt increments.

you can tell someone who is full of shit, like this guy for example.

First off goofus I already own the exact generator op shows in his original post. It's very quiet and ear plugs are not needed, I used it when camping and putting it at the end of a 25 foot cord is far enough away that you can have a normal conversation with people.

also I have 5 generators including 1 I built myself. none them "pop".

>>1847750
seriously you should research before you open mouth insert foot and chew vigorously.

76db is only 16 over a normal conversation.

A washing machine puts out 70db

city traffic inside a car is about 80db

over 85db is where hearing damage begins to occur.

so.... "son" ALL clamp meters are used the same way, you isolate one of the power leads in the clamp and take your reading based on the position of the lever at the bottom, multiplying by that number. Take your time read that slowly as many times as you need.

To read the voltage, move the lever to voltage. attach a wire to the ground (google ground or earth symbol) if you need help. The other lead to the voltage range you want. connect your wires to the AC circuit (try NOT to die). read the meter using the proper range or multiplier.

see! no manual needed.
