Is it too late for me? I'm 24, been doing plumbing for about 3 years now, and it might sound odd but I want to pursue a career in law enforcement. Reason being that I'm not sure if I like the day to day work anymore. When I got into trade work I was 21 and I needed to do something. I went to school to learn about heating and air conditioning from 18 to 21. At first I liked it but ive taken a turn in my life toward trying to be healthier. My mother and father both passed away during the time I was in school and then started my plumbing career. Now my life is just go to work, go home. Maybe talk to a friend or whatever. I really have noone. On top of that, I recently got let go from a company I just joined because the boss didn't really like how I fit in with the other guys. They liked to drink everyday. Some as much as 16 17 beers a day. It made me uncomfortable. Most plumbers I've worked with were like this and I just find it exhausting to be a part of a work place that is so unhealthy. Ive made a few good friends a long the way too and the company that originally trained me loved me and my old boss is one of my best friends.
However im feeling disenfranchised now. I dont really like that 75 percent of the guys I work with are alcoholics and/or drug addicts. I do good work and I have a good work ethic, I liked the job a lot too. But I've been thinking lately I might want to open the door to a different world. Maybe go to school again for criminal justice or something similar. Am I being an idiot? I'm pretty close to being a full fledged mechanic too lol. If anyone else has gone down this road please let me know what questions I should be asking myself. Idk if /diy/ is the right place to post this but I figured maybe you guys would understand.

I have a house that's on septic. We just had a massive plumbing job where all the cast iron was replaced with pvc. I'm concerned because now the septic pools in our back yard and while the bathroom tub and sink drains fine, the kitchen sink doesn't drain at all. It's connected to our dishwasher and it fills up and flows into the kitchen. I've snaked the line and it's still not draining. Wut do?

Generator hater here. I would not recommend buying any of those pre-packaged 'generators' (not generators) which only combine a battery and an inverter and charge you a markup for the privilege. The batteries in them are always inferior compared to what you could buy separately. They're just charging you for a convenient package and no performance.

Problems that would be solved with a $300 gas bike, instead of a $1,500 electric bike, gas generator, trailer, and masochistic experiments in efficiency loss. Enjoy sitting under a tree with your claptrap rattling when you have somewhere to be and it's not charged yet.

Okay I'll stop posting now because no one cares to hear it.
