So, to float your container, you need to use 6,000 kilowatts of ENERGY, either from petrol or electricity.
Now, that's a flowing speed, it's like miles per hour, it's how much energy you're using at any time, not an amount used.
So, if a lightbulb uses 1 watt, or, let's say, every second it needs one cup of electricity poured into it, if we wanna see how much it uses per hour we leave it on, keep pouring one cup of electricity into it every second, then after an hour, we can say it used one watt hour of energy. A constant flow of one cup of energy per second is called a watt, and the total energy used if you do this for an hour is a watt hour.
So, if you then get 10 of these lightbulbs, you could use one watt hour of energy to power them, but you'd use it up 10x quicker.

So, if you've got six million watts, if used for an hour, that uses up six million watt hours. Doing this for 40 hours, to get from hawaii to cali, would use up 40 times six million watt hours, or 240 million watt hours. Divide by a thousand to get kilowatt (thousand watt) hours, 240 thousand kilowatt hours (240 thousand thousand watt hours).
Now, a 1kw battery (costs $1,500) but also weighs 9 pounds. And we need 240 thousand of these.
So, just to carry the original 60,000 pounds of container and cargo, we need 240 thousand 9 pound batteries, or 240,000 times 9, two million pounds of batteries, that would cost 240,000 batteries times $1500 each, Three hundred and sixty million dollars.

>i don't think this is a good idea because then i'm limited to going over water.
OP, if you think "Collecting steam off the ocean to float" is a good idea, then what do you think about this image? Maybe you could rotate it and use it to fly?
Either pay attention in your fucking physics classes you 13 year old idiot or go back to highschool.
