There's a well known 2.4 GHz digital module which is widely used in most of those diy rovers/small drones/etc applications called NRF24L01. The chip itself has an output transmitting power of 0 dBm (1mW). There is also amplified version of the module with PA and LNA which outputs 20 dbM (100mW) on picrel.

Now my question is, is it possible to use this chip with another more powerful amplifier chip? Or the amplification factor is a limited thing and it would be impossible to amplify it further and I would need to have more powerful transmitter chip in the first place?
