Does this look like a tech support board?

Make sure your cables are plugged in right. If that doesn't help check to make sure the connections aren't damaged. If that's not it, send your filthy console in to get repaired.

It tastes like blind and liver failure.

Seriously though, I'm not too sure aside from a methanol test.

I'm a very light sleeper. I also happen to own a "Judge" handgun. It's the shittiest gun in the world, but it'll send a home invader to meet their maker.

That's all the "DIY alarm/security" I need. Alarms only serve the purpose of letting the police know there's a corpse to pick up. Police are often slow to respond, meaning the criminal will have all the time to get what they want and do what they want to you before they hear the sirens blaring from two miles away, and dash off. You, meanwhile, will be another tragic statistic.

Bonus: By killing a criminal I reduce the crime rate in my area. Due to laws in my state (KY) I wouldn't even face criminal charges for doing so.

My Commissar outfit...the jacket was some last minute buy, but the hat needed a bit of customizing. Gold trim, a bit of red paint, a plastic skull and craft foam combine to make a perfect Commissar's peaked cap. I'm currently looking to make a Hussar's jacket to complete the outfit.

My Tech-priest outfit made with a piece from a paintball mask, various bits of junk and a slathering of gold paint. Rust effects were added by hosing a bit of denim with brown spray paint and dabbing it on the piece at random. The goggles were made the same way.

This was my earliest attempt at making a prop. An airsoft gun for the base, pvc, insulating foam tubing, and cardboard. The metal "buttons" are old button-cell batteries. The window-gauge thing is cardboard and a bit of green sprite bottle. It looks like crap.

Nothing says "do it yourself" like building your own props and costumes. Yes, this may have some overlap with the cross dre- I mean, "cosplay" board but fuck it. In my book, building something yourself is as "DIY" as it comes, regardless of what it may be.

So, with that here are a series of pictures of one of my older projects. A bolt pistol from Warhammer 40k (Overlapping with /tg/ as well) and one of my better builds.

Made from foam-core, an energy drink can for the barrel, cardboard tubes and duct tape, along with a broken toy pistol it all comes together to look like a respectable prop. About a dozen sticks of hot glue hold the whole thing together.

RULE FUCKING ONE:

>The one rule at the start is going to be do not share instructions for how to make weapons, or any other device intended to hurt a person.

Take your ass over to /k/. They share your affinity for weapons and not being able to read.

The product of the American Education system. Isn't it grand?

Anyway, first time I tried brewing mead, I didn't have a pressure release valve. Instead I was using a plastic gallon jug with a screw on-cap and stuck it in my closet to keep it cool and in the dark. Well, a few days pass and I'm sitting around playing a bit of this weird new game (Minecraft Alpha) when I hear a loud pop. I ignore it for a few minutes until I start smelling alcohol and what I assumed to be fermented honey. I open the door and see a massive amber puddle on my carpet, and the milk jug had ripped itself open. The screw-cap was still secured.

>GOD DAMNIT

Since then I've gained some experience and I now make a very fine product.

I have a brewer's supply store within walking distance* from my house. You under privileged folks have it rough...

*(Is it considered "walking distance" if it's two miles away?)

Is there no one else on who shares our love of fermentation?

I have a small amount that has been sitting at the bottom of my closet for the past two years. I just took it out and had a smell. It smells like honey and alcohol. And a bit of yeast.

I shook it a bit when taking it out and it's a bit cloudy. I know it's just yeast, but I think I may need to let it settle a bit and then draw off the liquid above the yeasty goo into a separate bottle.

If all goes well (and I have no reason to believe it won't) I should be getting a strong buss from at least 20oz. of 15% alcohol mead. (15% because that's the yeast I used. Brew store nearby. Suck it.)

Anyone in the Louisville, KY area know much about the local laws/regulations?

I know that as long as it's posted private property, you can get into a bit of trouble but aside from that I need to have a bit more info before I take the plunge, so to speak. I've tried looking on my own but I can't find any specific laws.

A wire saw? I've actually used one of those things and they are worse than worthless. I've bought several of them over the years and they either break as soon as you go to use them, fall apart, or snap like a guitar string (Those of you who have been cut by a snapping guitar string...now imagine you're out in the woods, dirty and sweaty. Not good.)

If there's one bit of advice you take from this thread it's this; Stay the fuck away from wire saws.

I'll look into Quinoa though. I may be able to find it at the immigrant stores in my area.

Back to /k/ with you. Those are entirely a situational/personal item and could potentially fuck you over harder being found with one by the authorities, and not having a proper license. (Depending on location.)

Well, that's one of those environmental/situational things. Not a lot of good will a fishing kit do you if you live in Arizona or Nevada, miles and miles away from bodies of water.

In this thread, we will discuss our friend, B.O.B, or the Bug out Bag. This is a bag packed with essential items that you can grab in case of an emergency and "Get the fuck out of Dodge" when you need to. There are many variations depending on anything varying from personal opinions on what needs to be packed, to the type of environment you find yourself in, and all the factors that entails. Typically a B.O.B. will be a large backpack, or rucksack made of heavy duty material and waterproofed.

Here is a list of some items that are essential in a B.O.B. especially if you're serious about surviving.

Knife: Fixed blade or folding.
Water purification tablets
First aid kit
Socks
Spare clothes
Spare undergarments
Duct tape
Zip-ties
Paracord or nylon cord
Whistle/air horn
Knife sharpening tool
Emergency blanket
Mirror: For signaling
Fire starting tools: Tested and proven reliable BY YOU.
Tinder for starting fires

These items are more or less essential to your bag and in an emergency situation, your survival. What's in your bag? Don't have one? Get started and make one! Pic related. Not mine, but pretty good.

I pretty much curl into a ball and weep because I am absolutely fucked. I have materials to build shotgun traps, I have a few guns and some ammo...but my location is by no means a defensible location. I am separated from my neighbors by drywall and insulation. The area around me has a large population, being in the suburbs near downtown Louisville. I think the people would flip a poo and turn inward, killing themselves long before the plague gets here, and that includes me.

Unfortunately there's not much I can do but grab my B.O.B. and haul ass out of here, trying to stay ahead of the plague and avoiding other people as much as possible.
