Well in that case, you should certainly expend the energy to rebuild that fan.

>but calling me poor because of a video card just rustles my jimmies for more than one reason.

It has absolutely nothing to do with your video card, its your persistence to repair it and hard wire around it.

You're sacrificing luxury for value.

>Also I'm OP, I'm posting as "Anon".

Yeah I noticed.

If you have a carpenter friend build a corner desk like the one you pictured, it shouldn't coast too much.

You've got Brazil next door to you, so finding quality woods should be super easy. Argentina is one of the upper scale countries in the world in regards to to style and class. Local thrift stores might have some good finds. Wish I could peruse them, I'm curious.

Replaced a ton of white oak the other day - rotted.

No experience with the other two.

Tudor - happy?

>I'm just going to ignore the fact that you are being a 12 year old spoiled cunt and skip arguing about "ur not 1337 enough"

I'll readdress this, being you reworded and deleted your other post.

I'm an adult. I work very hard for the things I have. I think you've got the wrong end of the stick old boy.

>you should do something better with your life if you don't spend money on high end gaming equipment?

You missed the point. If you can't afford a basically normal video card, you don't really need to be asking this question on this board, you need to be out getting a better career. The 5700 is such old technology, that its worthless, and therefor not worth repairing.

I sold a Windforce GTX680 at the beginning of the year because I was tired of gaming and realized I had better things to do with my life.

I completely understand being frugal, but you sound flat out poor.

I'll rephrase my previous statement - DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT.

Having to run a fan automation program is something a poor person would do. I've done it before, complete waste of time. Buy a used card that does all of these things for you.

Its all made out of fiber board, so I would hardly call it quality at all. I'm of the mindset that if you can't do it right, don't try to do it at all. I'd rather live in an empty room for a while and save than throw money at shit I'll be breaking down and sending to the dump.

Craigslist is FULL of real wood furniture for next to nothing. Get a scratched up piece of wood rather than a new plastic desk. I know you're not OP btw.

Not really.

I live in a tutor home that's constantly falling apart.

For the record, IKEA is furniture designed in Sweden and built in the third world. Its not high quality at all.

What are the needs you have for a desk btw?

There are two grades of furniture in this day in age - real furniture and fake furniture.

Real furniture is made out of real hardwoods, solid wood pieces, stained and clear coated.

Fake furniture is made out of a particle or fiber board, and then coated with a veneer or plastic, so that it looks like real wood.

Almost everything is going towards being fake, because the middle class is dying in America, and the poor and lower class is growing. All furniture from the beginning of time - 1960's is real hardwood furniture. From 1970 - present, companies have been making garbage. You can still get real new furniture, but its FUCKING expensive.

I suggest using craigslist to find old used and warn furniture at bargain prices. Consignment shops are also amazing for finding gems.

I have a $2000 (new) Sligh 1963 executive leather desk in my bedroom that I use for my laptop. Its built out of solid cherry, its about three feet deep, so the draws are also three feet deep. I bought it for $85 from someone on Craigslist who had no idea what it was - some Mexican who inherited it from his folks. There's a ton of dumb kids on craigslist selling valuable things to support their drug habit.

Dovetailing is also a sign of quality construction. Google it. When draws are dovetailed, you'll know you've found a hand built piece of furniture that's worth money.

I started building my own furniture a few years ago. Building a solid desk is a TIME consuming process, dovetailing the draws, routing the top, staining, clear coating. It really makes you appreciate the quality of wood furniture, and you'll understand why it costs so much. If you try to "order something", it's going to cost more than its worth, and it will be built with lower quality supplies. Right now is a golden age to find good looking bargains from the 50's and 60's. When that stuff's gone it will be very hard to find real furniture anymore.

Pic - dovetail drawer.

Its styled exactly like a Mercedes Benz and its one of the most comfortable cars in the world. In fact its "the most" comfortable car second only to the Rolls Royce Phantom.

I just noticed your name. You're a spick.

Enjoy your Chrysler.

I see this every day, and its annoying.

People buy all of these expensive electronics, and then set it all up on a picnic table, and use a garbage chair.

My advice is that you start learning about furniture. Buy a real wood desk to put everything on - possibly an executive desk with a leather top. Having a ton of electronics and a NES is going to scream;

>"I'm a man child who only knows about games and computers."

By the way, the keyboard you pictured is a 1985 IBM Model M, buckling spring keyboard. It makes a load mechanical click when you press the keys. You can get them in black. I have about a dozen and have taken one apart, they're tanks. The headphones are garbage. The monitors are cheap. That desk looks like its all owned by a six year old. The cable routing is a disgrace.

Get some real furniture... geek out later.

Too fucking bad. You were dumb enough to buy from a lesser brand.

This is a case and point why buying a new car is a stupid idea. You buy something that's been around for a while, tested, and diagnosed.

A used Lexus LS430 not only outclasses that car, but also doesn't have problems, and cost little in comparison.

Are you black?

Not only will this probably not work (depending on the fan casing), you stand the chance of shorting the DC motor beneath.

>Then the fix is dirt cheap.

I spent a part of my life trying to life hack my way through problems like this. Its a slippery slope towards disorder. If you don't connect to the fan header on the card, you lose the cards ability to change the fan speed. So the fan will only run at a single speed - probably full, and its noisy as hell. Inb4: Get a fan controller. I had a friend who did this shit many years back, he'd BSOD about every three minutes. "Derp, oops I forgot to turn the fans back up."

Automation is a luxury you're paying for when you buy engineered hardware. When you start nigger rigging things like the fan, quality drops off readily.

Stop being a poor broke loser, and buy a decent card. If you can't afford an Nvidia card of 480 GTX or higher, you need to toss your computer out and do something better with your life anyway.
