This also depends on what kind of truck you plan to purchase. If it is anything like a box truck, don't try towing or pulling much, their not good for it. Though you could be a sort of moving company. If you get the vehicle pictured which looks like a deuce and a half then that would be ideal for plowing, or pulling people out of ditches. Something like a winter road crew would work. Those can be ok for pulling trailers with boats and crap if that is what you plan. They also usually have a lot of bedspace in the rear for other shit.

Can also be known as a "Creeper" for creeping along on the ground.

Interlace the pages then punch holes in them and make some sort of rope ladder? Do the same as that cept attach some thick metal tow hooks on the ends and use it to pull some one stranded.

Tip: Try putting some take or cellophane or the like on your finger tips so they don't get too beat up.

Any ideas on where i might find this glow plug? A generator would be pretty cool, but i think i would start with maybe some LEDs first since i am not very good at stuff yet. I could also use it as a fan just put bigger blades on the front. Maybe build a small boat and use this as the motor to push it into walls and stuff.

Hey /diy/ So i got this small airplane engine from my brother who used to have the kit for a full RC airplane. Is there anything inexpensive i could do with it, also how to i get it to run? It has this little slot on the side for what i assume is exhaust, there is a long spacer that looks like a heat sink almost, then a muffler looking tube, i don't have the bolts but i'm sure i could find some. There is a small hole in the top of the head for what i assume would be a spark plug? But it is so small i don't think they make them that tiny, maybe something else goes there. The only stuff i have for it is the muffler parts the engine with the airplane propeller on it and some small tubing for gas(?)

Pic related.

Doing tiles would look ok too, for that you might need some sort of concrete saw to cut lines then widen them. Unless you can find a way to gouge straight lines in it to make it look tiled. A hammer and chisel would take too long i would think and it would be hard to do a good even line. Unless you actually cut out squares, in which case you would want to rent a concrete saw and just cut it up.

As for smoothing it, i don't know much about that but you might get away with some sort of grinder that you can smooth it down then polish it up. Or pour a thin layer of concrete mixed for smooth flooring.

Oh masonry huh? I don't know alot about that stuff, but you could round the edges and smooth it. Or maybe break it up and re-cement it with the chunks in different spots kind of an abstract puzzle... Or just round the edges and smooth it.

Get one of those fire pit oven chimney things and some deck chairs with maybe a few potted plants around?

Gotta be a somewhat plastic like mold, rubber and silicone will stretch out of shape when the ice freezes. Try melting a bunch of your childrens favorite toys into a pot lined with a good non stick spray (Pam or something) and keep it warming while you make a negative mold out of clay wood or whatever you like, then pour the plastic on the negative and let dry/harden. Once done peel/pry (careful not to break it) and take a dremel or file or whatever and trim as desired.

He made it easier for himself, you could spend ~20 minutes dremeling the head or spend 20-25 drive to hell and back trying to find a store that carries security bits, i know i don't have a place near me. The local harbor freight is 20 minutes away plus time of finding said bits. The auto parts stores have them yes but it is still time consuming driving there. Also who the hell takes 20 minutes to dremel a slot? It really shouldn't be that hard.

And again, another redneck improvisation was not having a frame jack to let my suspension travel for some maintenance, so i used a big floor jack a block of wood for a bigger surface and a cinder block type thing for height.

Yes it was stupid and yes it was unsafe but i don't have the money to buy a frame jack yet so it did the job i needed it to do.

Wow guys, attack a poor guy for making life a bit easier. if he destroyed the head then he would get to drill it out and fix it, his fault. I don't think he did though or he might not have posted here. Who cares if he improvised and cut a slot in a torx head bolt. Do you know how easy it is to strip the shit out of those if their rusted or overtightened by a dumbass previous owner? Pretty easy, i applaud OP for doing something useful. Now my "Improvisations" are a little more redneck, see i don't have money to afford a breaker bar or a decent size pipe to leave laying around my garage so...

This is a picture of a 1/2 inch socket wrench on the axle side bolt for a part on my truck, the is supposed to be torqued to about 200 ft lbs so loosening it was a pain, i decided to use a small floor jack and it worked wonderfully. No i didn't have a torch no i didn't have a breaker bar or a pipe that would fit.

Well here is my shitty hand drawn picture. The boat doesn't really show what i mean but i am sure you can figure it out on your own. Just look at a boat and look at some plywood.

>> No.173142 [View]

basically i don't really know much on building them but i did learn that getting the wood wet allows you to bend it then let it dry over a night or 2 and it should pretty much keep that shape. If you us plywood, you could cut sort of like strips then angling one side and once you have like 4-5 of these, make a trapezoid type of flat piece and screw all the boards onto that and make them flush if possible. once you have them stuck pretty good just bend them inward toward eachother and screw them together at the front, seal the cracks and screws and stuff. On the front find a rubber or polyurethane strip and glue it on the front seam so it is better at pushing water sideways, then run a bead of sealant along the edges for protection... I am hoping some of this makes sense, i will try my hand at drawing pictures on MS paint but i am not super good at it.

I hope i find this thread 2 years from now when i won't get my ass kicked for drinking alcohol. I want to try this, is there any reason to worry about a poison of some sort?

Ya i just saved the pic. I wonder what other plant spores you could put in it. Maybe i could get my hands on one of those huge industrial bulbs from my work. The out door lights are big enough to fit a small bush in there...

>> No.156201 [View]

I wish i could do one of these but i don't have a damned light bulb... Every time i get a burnt out one i forget about these. So do you just find some moss and throw it in with a few pebbles and dirt? There was also something about putting a small piece of coffee filter over the hole in the top so the moss spores don't go out all over the place.

>> No.143191 [View]

I was thinking about using one as a small burn barrel, cut the top off and poke some small holes in the bottom for ventilation and then maybe curl the top to keep from cutting yourself. You could burn small paper things like receipts and stuff as long as it doesn't get too hot to melt it.

You might want to look into something with a thicker glass, It might be dangerous having a crab in a lightbulb. I had 3 of them in a fish tank and they like to hit the glass and try to climb it. Little bastards

>> No.89182 [View]

>>89168
Ok that makes more sense, i was sitting here thinking you had the whole filter with a hole cut in it glued to the bulb end. I was thinking "that would look kind of goofy" I might look into doing this if i can get a bulb and not end up breaking it all over my hands...
