lapsang souchong (twinning's or solstice tea traders) use it to replace whiskey in non alcoholic mocktails. ex: lapsang+sprite= nonalcoholic scotch highball, or look up old fashioned non alcoholic recipe.

my bad, self depreciating humor and sarcasm are my coping mechanisms other than lurking on /ck/ and giving advice on food/alcohol when on a budget.

instead of starting this tread with domino logo, should've posted pick of tattoo or something only in your room (ex: half drunk bottle of fave alcohol), then timestamp all future pics with that tattoo/item somewhere in background.

i base my preferences on flavor profile and versatility rather than spiciness.
tapatio/valentina - citrusy, vinegary, good for serving on meals/chips, fried food like chicken fries, or pizza.
tabasco - vinegar, use for cooking soups, stews, fish, stir fry.
aardvard - garlicy, spices, tomato and peppers. wholesome experience, use in marinating sauces, and serve in things like sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, bruchettas, toast, crackers, or things that require bread (since it soaks up most of taste of other sauces)

>> No.10994575 [View]

tapatio, valentina, tabasco as vinegar, aardvark.

jalapenos or chicken. half of pizza places in 12604, NY don't have these as a topping but dominos has it here, has it 85365, AZ and prob has it at your location too.

put your pride in a box and invest your time in community helps(food bank, church meals), coupon hounding, collecting+selling recyclables, buy generic brands and using grocery shopping apps that scan your receipts. once you make a feast so grand that you have to invite people over, you can take it out of the box and be proud of what you've done and the effort paying off.

local food banks can replace cereal, grains, and veggies. heck, you might even get fresh or canned produce, dried pasta and other pantry items if you're lucky. use newsaved money on meats (ground beef, pork, chicken, stew or stir fry cuts) and can tomatoes (diced, whole, paste, sauce or tomato based sauce like spaghetti or enchilada sauce). this'll expand your cooking options

drown in vanilla/strawberry yogurt, fruits, granola, chocolate or maple syrup.

reuben are the ones to be cut in half. gyros, elvis, heroes, chicken waffle, pb+j ice cream and breakfast sandwich don't need to be cut.

not me but something all of you cu/ck/s will never understand:
matching meals with alcohol (wines, beers, hard liquor). if you match finger/fried foods or pizza with lagers, pilsners, ipa, ales or other light beers, i'll give you credit on proving me wrong.

good example:
1.make wine sauce (wine+spices like peppercorn, anise, clove, bay leaf in a pouch), marinate t-bone steak and remove pouch
2.make a glaze by reducing sauce and adding blueberry preserve/cranberry sauce, sear steak and brush sauce, cook in oven
3. make gravy by caramelizing sliced onion in butter, making a roux with flour and adding the glaze and make to right consistency with beef broth. pour over steak when serving.

haven't tried it but it's in my experiment/to do list.

sauces. i use them before during and after cooking.
before in marinating, rubs, or batters.
during in stir fry, stews or glazing.
after when serving, as garnish, or dipping.
i think of new sauces to theme dishes, experiment and match store bought ones to dishes like i match meals and wines.

grilled zucchini is an odd but additive pizza topping. try tomato slices in a margherita style pizza or mixing whipped potatoes and pizza/barbecue sauce for the base between the flatbread/dough and cheese/toppings.
