Alright, well I guess I'll go ahead and state a few new things and observations moving here from Illinois:

> Green burrito sucks
> Del Taco is pretty good
> Cali has Five Guys

Also, Almonds and Pecans are hugely produced here. I can eat oatmeal full of nuts and bananas every morning for under $3.00 a bowl. In Illinois it was significantly higher cost for almonds and pecans and you could only really get them in the store salted, not gigantic bags of shaved almonds. The grocer out here has a worse meat selection, but the wine selection is way better and way cheaper.

In NorCal, I've eaten at a few different places thus far, Sacramento and San Francisco. San Francisco has great seafood- mostly shellfish and a huuuuge wine list for lush. Sacramento seems to be more down to earth as a beer city with typical agrarian restaurants. Much cheaper but a little more bland.

Any more for my list?

Hey friends, I just moved out to Cali and I've been enjoying all the agriculture out here. I didn't realize how much this state produced until I got here. Norcal, by the way.

I know Avocados of California are a must, but there are a few other things I'm curious about- most notably what other foods are cheap and locally produced? What's the best Californian fast food chains? What areas have the best restaurants?

Can we get a comprehensive list going?

>Culver City
sooooo much ethnic food along venice blvd and along that area
cuban, ethopean, botswanian, finnish, canadian, venezualan, cajun, russian, tiawanese etc etc etc

for quality american tacos, go to the tacoshop "tito's tacos" super famous. for good mexican tacos go to any other taqueria.

Rallys burgers is amazing greasy fastfood, they have a menu thats like 2 awesome items from small chillicheese dogs $2, two fo $3 deals, $4 deals, 2 bacon double chillie swisscheese burger for $6 deals...

along venice blvd there was this taqueria that sold a 3lb burrito for 8dollars flat. i think its like all the extra bad cuts of everything, but its great for when you havent eaten all day... fuckers give me like 2 cups of salsa to go with it. not those little plastic cup things, but like actual 8oz cup

honestly id say skip fastfood all together.. aside from in-and-out just to let you know what fastfood can be like without all the msg and crap... but even then the line there is soo long it is NOT fast food

mom and pop shops are always super kickass in california
