Well yes, but no. Lead piping is around since roman times, but after the collapse of rome, lead piping is not a big things anymore and the aqueducts tend to fall apart due to no maintenance. People relied on good old bucket and water carriers to bring water to people. Fun fact: the city of paris still relied on water carriers at the beginning of the 20th century.
The lead poisoning you could get was mostly for women that literally used lead oxide to whitened their skin.
