The meat doesn't look like that but the membrane over it is very similar. It completely covers one side.

bump. I'm ready to cook.

If homemade it's usually called "hamburger steak", and it's horrible. My mom used to make it every monday, I'd wash the gravy off in the sink and make an actual hamburger.

Don't do it unless you're in a really nice area. Drivers get held up and robbed regularly. Also, to get better tips you need to look really good and be really personable. Even if you're late and forgot the soda, if you're attractive and affable you'll make more tips than the fat autistic mouthbreather who's always on time and remembers everything. I've done it. For tips you need to sell yourself, not the food.

Well, things fall in and out of favor due to many factors. Having to do with availability, cost, the current generations preferences, health benefits, taste, etc. Once again, people are buying it because people seem to like it. Places are selling it because people are buying it. It isn't a "fad" like say, Pepsi Clear or Jello casseroles from the 60's. Its a produce item. A plant. And it's good.

Oh lord, here we go. Is onion a fad too? Restaurants sell them because people buy them. People buy them because people like them.

Simmer down now!

Saute some chicken with veggies like onion, garlic, and peppers. Its pretty hard to fuck up chicken as long as you cook it through.

Agreed, I love me some guacamole. For some reason or other /ck/ likes to shit all over them though.

In light moderation, probably as harmless as occasional sugar.

In excess, probably as harmful as excessive use of sugar.

Soup /ck/.

I'm sort of new to making fajitas, only made them a few times. I got some skirt steak from a Hispanic grocer and the bottom of it has this sort of layer of fat and membrane. Do I need to cut this shit off before I cook? I tried cutting some off and its a pain in the dick so I left most of it. Gringo here and I don't remember there being much membrane on the ones from the guero grocery store.

I feel ya, living with people is the worst. I still enjoy leaving the house though. Other people are awful, but so entertaining. As long as I have my 12 hours of daily seclusion I'm a happy cooker.

Yea, fuck that starvation shit man. You may be losing weight but the negative effects negate it. It got to a point where I'd rather be overweight and happy/healthy as opposed to the hair loss, mood swings, and overall feelings of unwelness and fatigue. Been there, done it. If you can manage to get comfortable eating 1500 you'll be fine and you'll still lose weight, albeit more slowly. But you'll feel so much better. Make sure your calories come from nutrient dense foods and not sugars and carbs, but you know this. Lots of meat, leafy greens, carrots, even cheese. And the hair loss is temporary. I thought I was just getting old and going bald, its all back now. Thick as all fuck.

Don't be afraid to eat, as you know your body requires nutrients and vitamins. If you still feel like a fatty then just keep eating and run, walk or bike in your free time. Eating like a fatty and excersicing your ass off is still so much healthier than starving yourself and being sedentary. At least you get your essential nutrients.

>200 calories a day

Why? No matter how fat you are you can't lose weight overnight. It's a commitment and a lifestyle. And dieting isn't only about looking better, it's about health in general. If your living on 200 a day I'll bet you actually look worse currently than when you started.

1500 cals a day, OP. High protien, high fiber, high vegetable. Low sugar, low carb. Do it for a year, two years. It may take that long but you'll be healthy and actually look healthy. I once went through a phase like you are. My hair started falling out and my whole body became a sheet of dandruff. Just do it slow and right.

Thank you, couldn't have said it better. These random burger and junk food hate theads are started by folk with bigger issues than those of us who occasionally eat a burger or junk food. Moderation. I don't think theres a food in existence that can't be implemented in moderation in any diet plan. A burger won't kill you. Eating McDonalds everyday will have bad results. It's like these people have something to prove by completely abstaining from everything remotely "unhealthy", and they like to make sure we all know about it.

Alcohol. Drink some, then go to the store. Or smoke, if thats your thing. Buy whatever meat looks the best and whatever veggies look the best. Find yourself a sauce too, or get stuff to make a sauce. Cook meat, cook veggies, invent a new dish. If you've got the money buy some cheese or fruit or something to go with it.

It isn't. Even if you ate three meals, each of which consisted of a Big Mac, you'd still be around 1600 for the day. What I'm saying is that the burger as is isn't as bad as people make it out to be. However adding fries and a coke will double the calories, don't do this. I'm dieting but will occasionally cheat and have a burger, just have it with an apple and water and it really isn't that awful.

Its intentional. They put all the best looking and hippest at the front end. They'd put the ones with above average intelligence, food nerds, and older people in specialty departments like meat, produce, specialty, etc. The ones in the kitchen, food prep, and the overnight crew were almost entirely hispanic or had a criminal record.

Yea but who eats a 200 calorie meal? A Big Mac sandwich has 550 calories. Not exactly a healthy item but even a Big Mac can be fit into a diet plan. IF you eat it with an apple and a glass of water or unsweet tea you're looking at a 600 calorie meal, not exactly diet killing material. The fries and soda we feel obligated to order with it are far worse than the actual burger.

Yea, usually a head of romaine won't last me that long anyway. When I have it I wrap fucking everything up in lettuce leafs. Lettuce sandwiches, lettuce tacos, lettuce roll-ups, etc. Its my plate, napkin and utensils all in one.

Exactly, thats what I was trying to say. I keep my lettuce in a cup like you'd keep flowers in a vase of water. I'm just wondering if it does any good or if I should put them in the fridge like everyone else does.
