I don't have gout. I have had multiple blood tests run, indicating nothing but a slight vitamin d3 deficiency, which I have since rectified. He's also been my GP for about 13 years, which is why it's confusing that suddenly he believes my diet to be the problem when I've had these symptoms, albeit worsening, for practically as long as I've been seeing him.

Then again this is 4chan, where you are a "tard" for questioning a line of reasoning that doesn't have any scientific study to back it up and has been completely out of character for my doctor as long as I have known him, nor do I any personal history of injury and am well aware of my own health. it's probably just some factor of my shitty gene pool bubbling out, but it'd be nice to get a better response than GO VEGAN and after this long it is disappointing to hear that from him

most recent tests run were

antinuclear antibodies, ifa
erythrocyte sedimentation rate
thyroxine levels
TSH test
rheumatoid factor
c-reactive protein
complete blood count, platelet test, blood differential
25 OH vitamin d3 test

i have etodolacs (another NSAID) but they are not helping this pain much at all, which is why I've tried to explain to him I am beginning to doubt the pain is even inflammation if prescription nsaids (even though etodolac is kind of baby level) are not effective, i swear he forgets I have a pharmacy technician degree

I need help. My doctor thinks going vegan will solve my problems that appear to not be food related whatsoever.

I am in shape, and at a good weight. However, I have intense pain in my wrists/hands and in my feet/ankles. I have been given an SSNRI which I believe helps me mentally but I feel no relief from the pain.

Tonight I complained to my doctor again that the pain is worsening, and that it is an abnormal amount of pain for someone my age. He responded that I should eliminate all animal products from my diet. Milk, meat, eggs, everything. He wants me to go vegan for two weeks and see if that reduces the pain. He claims animal proteins cause inflammation, even though during the bouts where my pain is the worst, my diet hasn't changed at all.

I eat well. I eat poultry and fish in moderation, get my fruit servings daily, though sometimes I miss one veg serving because I don't like em as much. I get my grains, etc. I am at a healthy weight for my height and I exercise regularly. But I can't find any statistical evidence that repeats what my doctor claims. He's been my doctor for years - is it time to move on?

that wasn't my entire idea of a diet. obviously he should have eaten better and I was telling him we ought to eat out less, but that wasn't his plan either, it was just eat the same thing which is low calories over and over and cross everything else out because he found one thing that "worked" for him and I had to follow that mantra. I was trying to make a point about moderation and exercise.

I'm at a healthy, low weight and I always have been, because I eat well and I exercise. it doesn't mean I can't drink a soda or go out to dinner once a week

i know. i was like you know you can just reduce your portions/frequency of the less-than-great stuff you eat or we can cook other things and he would throw a fit. "NO you don't understand, this is what works for me and if you supported me you wouldn't argue it!!" I don't think just because I want to drink a soda means I'm being unsupportive. i think there can be a balance in me having to eat his shitty diet and him having the self-control not to bust open a soda just because I'm having one (I don't need a diet)

>> No.5421019 [View]

food contributed to a break-up, once

he couldn't use self control for himself, so if he wanted to diet, I had to diet too. which wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't involve eating unseasoned chicken breast and fat-free tortillas every night.

he also used to hammer on me for not finishing entire portions at restaurants, to the point where I started forcing myself to eat everything and would feel super sick later (thankfully I didn't get fat, just a round of brain issues)

shotgun to the head next campsite over

I actually felt kind of bad for it because rattlesnakes aren't an in your face kind of snake, your risk of being bit is usually low unless you're stupid or reaching into bushes

but I guess as bad as I felt curiosity took over

well, it was literally roasted over a campfire and i'm sure they didn't season it. but i don't remember it being exceptionally dry, just equatable to poultry, and that I would eat it again

I ate a rattlesnake once while camping. it's cliche, but it really did taste like chicken

I'm looking for recommendations on summer sausage or cured sausages, possibly salami as well. I love to snack on it with cheese and crackers but even by itself I just love the taste. but I want to try something besides the kind of generic one my supermarket carries. Don't have a problem ordering it online if someone can recommend a really fantastic brand. also kind of curious about specialty meats like ostrich or venison.
