Thank you. You can use regular milk, I just had the coconut milk can open already. You can also put sugar in it if you want, I would say 2 or 3 tsp would be fine, melt it into the milk.

Ok, so I can't really compete this year but I thought I would enter a dish today just for fun and not "for consideration"

Some folks don't care for cloyingly sweet breakfasts, so I made this custard from unsweetened coconut milk, blood oranges, and bacon brittle. The custard takes on a soufflé quality after baking. The fruit and bacon brittle add just a hint of smoky sweetness to the dish. The bread pictured is homemade by me. It is whole wheat crescent roll.

I think I am going to sit this one out, I will be watching though. I am excited to see what everyone comes up with.

Hey, alright. I hope you do. I would love to have inspired someone to compete. Even if it was from answering questions and not for my OC.

yes, four months is a long time for a contest. Like I said, I have to cook anyway so it isn't going that far out of my way. The prize was originally $50 but John forfeited a $10 prize for winning another challenge and it went into the main pot. I am not sure why the decide on $50 but it's not like this contest was sponsored. Zombie_bisque and heartsonfire put this contest on by themselves and paid for the pizes. I am not sure if anyone else contributed to the prizes but it seems like quit an expense to dole out on your own to a stranger on the internet. I haven't seen the trophy yet. I will post a picture of it when I get it.

The incentive? I guess to do it, and to do it well.

I have to cook almost everyday anyway, might as well make something extraordinary and challenging at least once a week. I used a cheap sony cyber-shot that is half broken and ages old. Most of my ingredients were inexpensive and locally sourced to make them approachable for the viewer. I like making the verticals anyway, they are fun. I hover from time to time, but I don't dedicate my life to 4chan. I won a trophy, an apron, a coffee mug, and a $60 Visa gift card. I was happy to share some OC with /ck/ and I was able to improve myself.

Yeah the spring roll and the accompanying recipes for the remoulade and the pickled red onions and carrots, The chicken from the regional challenge, you have the other two recipes but not the cuisses de poulet roties. The pork stew with creamy corn grits, and the bloody mary tomatoes from the salad challenge ( I don't think that made it to the blog for the contest anyway so I used it as my pic related. . I didn't do a vertical for my first challenge, the chicken au gratin. let me know what of those you need me to post again for you.

You missed a couple but I am not worried about it, you got my favorites in and that is a lot of hard work uploading and tagging all that shit. Thanks for doing it, now I can make your chicken with the mustard cream sauce!

ok my favorite dish to make was a tie between the Chocolatl Cookie Tarts (because easy and little to clean up for such a yummy cookie) and the Ravigote Spring Rolls (because they are fun to assemble) The Ravioli with the egg in the middle and the butter sage sauce was my favorite to eat, making the pasta without a machine was a bitch though.

My favorite dish that any OTHER contestant made was Anon.'s Squash Ravioli, I want to make that and Bubbleburt's (I think it was Bubbleburst's) chicken entry with the mustard cream sauce-I want it IN MAH MOUTH!

Yes, I would make some of these dishes. I plan to make some of them once the downloadable file comes available.

I haven't tried anyone else's dishes, yet, but I will!

BubbleBurst. you absolutely may upload my recipes to ck.booru. I would definitely like to save some of yours when you do. Thanks, I didn't even think about that.

This is my submission for the final entry. I chose one of my very favorite dishes: Crabmeat Ravigote Spring Rolls. I have included the recipes for the Pickled Red Onions and carrots and for the Chili Garlic Remoulade. The will be following this picture along with a close up of the dish and a timestamp. I really like to make this dish around Christmas time, or anytime there are a lot of people to feed, because it is fun to assemble, somewhat exotic, and absolutely delicious. It looks attractive too! I hope you like this and find time to make it for yourself one day.

Oh, WOW! Thank you guys. I am very happy you all enjoyed the last dish I posted. It is really a staple in our house, maybe someone else will try it now. Good luck to everyone in the next round, and BF, sorry to see you go.
