I've had some pretty great food from places that seem to be aiming for every base. Best place was halfway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie in Northern Ontario. Some sort of fakey German building attached to a motel along the highway, it had absolutely amazing burgers, and their Chinese food was better than I've had outside of trips to China.

Same to me. Not only is the food awful, but it's about as expensive as a proper sit down mom n' pop place anyway. I'm not paying 11 bucks for a tiny burger and some fries that came out of a bin when I can pay that same price at a bar and have a giant burger and thick-cut freshly made fries, AND be in a nice place while I'm at it.

though where I live the service is usually good. I guess the high volume makes it very competitive, and mcdos offers all kinds of school assistance and insurance and shit now.

meanwhile, the bar next to my house has four dollar gourmet hot dogs slathered in all kinds of shit, and a respectable pan of fries are three bucks. about the same volume of food, but it's made with real food instead of being reclaimed tree product and mechanically separated cow essence. another bar over on crescent has burgers for 5$ and theyre both bigger and tastier than mcdos.

i dont understand why people go to mcdonalds, or any fast food for that matter. it's so expensive and you get so little and food elsewhere is so darn cheap. you also tend to have a lower risk of getting stabbed at a bar than at mcdonalds after dark

This is highest on my list of things that will never make me go back to a place ever. Thankfully it's rare. The one time it happened was at a subway. Drove to my hobby shop, found out it closed down and my friends decided fuck it lets go to the subway next door and play some mtg. we all ordered food and after 20 minutes the guy starts telling us to leave. the place was completely empty save for us and for whatever reason the guy is in a rush to get us the fuck out of there.
