No, the girl didn't kill herself, but she did attempt it. It had nothing to do with gender. The girl drew Rose Quartz thin before Rose's whole body/herself were introduced. She drew her from the portrait in the show and she assumed Rose was thin. She was also accused of being a racist for drawing a Native American girl.

There was some speculation that some ex-friends/people that didn't like the girl, made up that bullshit and it spiraled out of control, she attempted suicide, the creators of SU on Twitter had to tell others to stop, and they were being threatened, too. But I have no proof over who started it all.

I dont see why the owners didnt just buy the cups straight from the suppliers and sell it online for an insane profit.
