Nothing today. Left my drinks at my buddy's house, and no car. I have half a bottle of wine left that belongs to my sister, but there's no point in drinking that because I won't even feel it.

Would kill for a 12 pack today to go with the wine. I have the money, too, which is rare. But just not the means to get to a package store.

I've had dreams like this dozens of times. I'd drink gallons of water in the dreams, but it was never enough. I would then wake up horribly dehydrated and chug 1L of water or milk. Drinking milk was fucking amazing during those times, and it's better than water due to the electrolytes and vitamins and shit.

Even sober (since Friday the 18th), I've been having trouble staying properly hydrated because my focus is back to hardcore levels and I get so immersed in things that I neglect myself. This is mostly a problem at work because I love what I do (CNC machinist) and I've had some really enjoyable jobs these past few weeks. It's often around 80F in the shop, so I sweat most of the day.

You will find your tastes in liquor are aquired and go in phases.

There was a time where I would get a bottle of jack, pour some into a short glass neat and be able to comfortably sip on it. I could enjoy the flavor enough to want to do it. Now I can do the same but with gin and cant drink whiskey. Gin is starting to taste ugly too though, have been drinking blended scotches like Cutty Sark more.

Drink what you like, just make sure you like it.

The only meme liquors that no one in their right mind drinks straight for enjoyment is cheap tequilla, vodka of any caliber, and sugary liqueurs.

>Inb4 vodka is awesome you just havent had good vodka

Its water mixed with ethanol and a subtle taste of potaoe, wheat, or grain. Its garbage fuck off. Its only common in some countries because it is so cheap. Literally a sack of potatoes even in a high end supermarket in America costs a few bucks and with a bit of time you can turn it into vodka. It also mixes well, this is why it is popular.

do you gets feel bad when you don't get carded? i just turned legal a while ago and was already feeling insecure about my regular visits

>> No.9355522

kinda worried guys.

I'm a beer drinker. I usually kill a 6 pack of 6-7% beer a night and drink a twelver on the weekend.

Just finished dinner and immediately had this nasty, yellow shit. I didn't even drink today.

First time I've had one like that, should I be worried? I read fatty, yellow stools are a sign of liver problems.

I'm not usually a daily drinker, but I got laid off and have few responsibilities so I've been hitting it pretty hard. I've never had shit like that before. I'm 25 and have been drinking pretty heavily since 18-19

My non-expert opinion is that you have something to worry about a bit but not terribly so. I get all kinds of weird shits when I've been hitting the booze too hard but they return to normal when I sober up and live clean and healthy.

I'd take it as a semi-early warning call that you need to clean your act up. There's ultimately very little that is good about this lifestyle/addiction.

Good cognac is one of the pinnacle's of alcohol flavor. I have a hard time imaginnig a 21 yo first timer enjoying it, and the only cognac worth buying is $$$.

If you must, look for Courvoisier VSOP. I have found it for $40, and it tastes great for that price.

Here's what you absolutely can't do: buy VS quality. Courvoisier's VS will be $10-20, but you might as well be drinking Jim Beam. Do not buy VS cognac.

Etiz is good--if you do research and find reputable dealer and buy online. Pretty similar to Xanax, maybe slightly more mild.

But you shouldn't do it for any prolonged time of course (like 2-3 weeks?), or else you'll be in a worse whole than alcoholism. Using for a few days or a week to get through withdrawal would be good, and occasional use for whatever stressful situation would be too, but you do not wanna get into benzos long term.

If you're prone to alcoholism, you might want to avoid etiz, unless you can just purchase like 10 or so.

That's interesting--the first "good" cognac I had was a $60 Spanish type where they never empty the barrel fully, so each bottle has a bit of maybe 30 or 60 yo brandy. It was amazing.

Courv VSOP is totally different and didn't seem very "barrelly", maybe because my previous brandy was the Spanish Autism Barrel type.

Benzo are more addictive than booze (raising tolerance, worsened anxiety if you're not on them), withdrawals are horrible, equal or worse than alcohol.
In inpatient rehab, they switch you to benzo, at a dose equivalent to what you drink, and taper that over a week. Then it can be used as a anxiolytic, but alternatives without tolerance are always better.

Last night I drank 16oz (around 470-480ml) of 57.1% London Dock rum. Felt good, and because I'm not a fucking moron I drank water before I started drinking the booze, and I drank some water now and then WHILE drinking the booze, and finally drank a lot of water AFTER drinking the booze. Felt fucking fine in the morning, and feel fucking great now because I went on a long-ass walk to pick up $60 of groceries which I walked back home. Good work-out, now rewarding myself with some hotdogs topped with ketchup, mustard, bit of Frank's Red Hot, and some home made fucking sauerkraut. Probably won't drink more rum until either August 31st or September 1st.

Come September I'm going to try to only get drunk 8 times in another step towards cutting down on my boozing. Even if I don't succeed, I don't much care, life's going great! I'm young, strong, healthy, steadily getting book sales, and I just in general feel awesome. Used to be a daily drinker, almost always rum but sometimes vodka or whiskey to mix things up, always straight except sometimes when it's over 50%. In the case of London Dock, generally I pour a half-ounce into my shotglasses, then use water to pour it up to the 1oz mark. Generally it's with the rum and water both chilled. I move the blankets on my bed in a way that it keeps the bottle of booze and bottle of water propped up to some degree, and then tuck those beautiful bastards in to help keep them nice and cool. I love having sleep-overs with my friends H2O and rum. They tell me I'm super cool and always laugh at my jokes.

I've been writing books for over a year, got 8 finished (6 of which are novels), all self-published, and I'm been fairly steadily making money at it. Glad to say I don't have a problem with unnecessary sweating or shakes but I do have difficulty sleeping sometimes. Quite a few nights recently I've found myself trying for 1.5-2.5 hours, no use. Maybe I'll try a little 'night cap' to help put myself to bed. I do miss the daily drinking though, for sure, it's like a party every night even if I'm only by myself. I know that that'll really fuck me up in the future though once I get into my 30s and advance into my 40s. Daily drinking, I'd be lucky to live to 60 years old I figure.

But yeah, writing is fucking awesome, I love it. My pen name is J N Morgan if you're interested. 5 of my 8 books make up my zombie survival series. There's a bit of drinking in it but not a whole lot obviously; access to booze is limited, but in my last one there was a nice bit of drinking. A bottle of rum polished off. Mmm, just thinking about it makes me want to have a nice bottle to cuddle up with tonight. Gonna try to wait until the 31st or 1st though.

Cheers! Here's a link to one of my books that I've set to perma-free, if you've got a taste for drama. I also just lowered the price on one of my books; the first sequel for my Living amongst the Dead series; Dark Days. It was $2.99, just put it down to $1.99. Might give more incentive for the readers of the first book to then give the second a try, perhaps.
