You guys ever get so in the weeds you hate yourself long after your shift is over? Got slammed with the biggest lunch crowd in this shitty little diner's history and obviously we're not staffed or stocked for that.
So I want to talk about stressful shifts essentially

Never. I get home, take a shower and pretend the day never happened.

I hear you my dude. They've been on TV twice this week, pimping brunch hard, and it all came down on us today. The entire staff got fucked, we had two chefs and the GM in the pass trying to find out where the fuck we were, just everything went down. Total fucking insanity.

The owner legitimately considered shutting down because we 86'd damn near half the menu. Prep was done on the fly per order at one point. We don't have a dishwasher because we don't get that busy, we can usually bust the pit out on down times, so we also kept running out of plates. Took two hours to close.

I've stopped caring. Give a smile and say sorry I'm out of straws. They can go fuck off for all I care.

SW Florida here. All the snowbirds flew in last month, this is a daily occurrence in our spot. We are fully staffed in back and front and it's still not enough. We are scrambling to keep up with prep. Fortunately we have three dishwashers

What kind of food does your restaurant make?

This new barbecue joint opened up near where I work and it's owned by this semi famous guy from North Carolina and it has been slammed since they opened a week and a half ago, I feel bad for the staff since half the clientele are old stuck up white bitches and their miserable husbands who get mad they have to wait in line for food at a barbecue joint that's been opened in the ghetto. I think it's getting to the kitchen too, I've been twice and the second time was noticeably less fresh, seems like they've been back loading the food prep.

I used to live in Tampa, s I am used to busy places, but I moved to Montana and I guess I got too used to how cushy this gig is. Usually when we're "busy" and everyone is freaking out I just hum and twiddle my thumbs while I run the place but I felt it today.

It was brutal.

Pretty standard diner grub, breakfast shit, sandwiches/burgers, we have a pizza oven so pizzas too. Yuppie vibe though. Our customers are mostly upper middle class people getting lunch and old people getting out of church. Lot of it is premade.
