I thought the amerifat meme was just fake, but after actually starting a "diet", it's almost impossible to eat out anywhere here, let alone fast food while being under 1200 a day. Sure you can micro manage calories, break it down to like 800 for dinner. but that's not factoring carbs and fat.

Fuck, even restaurants with "lighter fare" parts of the menu are "healthy" cause it's tiny or there's no tasty options.

My ideas of a good breakfast:

Some good muesli (not some sugar/chocolate/crunchy frosted shit) with some milk or greek joghurt, you can add raisins or honey for some extra sweetness if wanted

Or just the good old oats

For peole wanting it savory some good rye or dark/full grain bread with some ham or any kind of meat you like, a boiled or scrambled egg is a nice addition

Drinks good for it are coffee, tea, water or some nice fruit juice (self-pressed is GOAT)

Basically some nice carbs to get a nice headstart for the day
Not too much sugar/fat to make you feel full and tired rather than energized

There's a lot of junk in America from when I lived there, but you can choose something that you're going to love regardless because there's so much available.

Waffle House, steakhouses, Italian and Mexican restaurants, and arguably just as GOAT as Waffle House:

Japanese restaurants. Especially hibachi.

England has piss poor restaurant choice quality. I pretty much go on holiday back to the US just for restaurants.

There's a "Waffle House Way" to cook every item and they are neurotic on keeping that way. One of the main reasons is because in the last year the ownership changed hands from the original owners, to the sons of the owners. Day one, they stripped most of the experienced cook's wages and made them start over. At least in my area. They just do not make good business decisions, and morale for the people that actually make a fuck is usually low because of this shit, and everyone is on the fringe of walking out or quitting. The servers could care fucking less because they get paid to be nice to people and sit on their ass.

where I am, a corner store or supermarket steak is like 4-8 bucks based on size (and the 8s can be divided between two people at least) and compare that to a 11 dollar meal from wendeys. Cooking at home is healthier and cheaper these days. Even if not immediately.

Needless to say, the joint erupted into chaos, with the Black chicks shoving and pulling hair and throwing wild haymakers all over the place as the manager came running out of the back, yelling and pushing the women out of the restaurant, who then continued the fight outside the restaurant until the cops finally came.

I got the biscuits & gravy with a side of hashbrowns, all of which was tasty.

There are breakfast place with those in Toronto but they are hipster and expensive (or they are in an expensive area).

I think people were happier before office jobs, the work less you eat more, and back then labour job probably paid better than now (when illegals deflate the wage). I read Stephen King's Salem's Lot recently, and it sound like a nice town pre-vampires and pre-economic-depression.

Had a good tima as a highschooler one spring working seasonal at a greenhouse, mah first job, sweating like a pig, so smelly at the end of the day my clothes need a hand rinse right away, but they paid above minimum even though I was a student, and being on my feet all day lets me eat a big breakfast and big lunch. There was a HK style diner near that greenhouse, I would have HK style milk tea with three eggs and bacon or sausage, and buttered toast and panfried tomatoes.

The other way I make them is like making a regular fried egg, but once the egg whites are more or less formed, you break the yolks and make them scrambled that way - rather than scrambling them in a bowl or right away.
