so i moved into a new apartment recently that has an electric stove. ive been thinking about buying a butane portable one to cook with when i need one, has anyone ever done this before? is there one you recommend and is it worth it?

This. There's nothing comfier than having a charcoal stove in your bedroom. I like to set mine up next to my bed before I go to sleep, then in the morning I can light it and grill some breakfast before I even get up.

Funny you would want this. Many Asian homes and restaurants that use butane cookers, mainly for serving hot pot/nabemono, are gradually switching to portable electric stoves due to explosion scares.
