soup
I forget the brand name, but there's a bag of $2~ 15 bean "cajun" soup. 2 pounds.
the recipe on the back is what I use (can of diced tomatoes, 10 cups water, lemon, onion, pound of meat), the "quick method" instead of soaking the beans means they won't turn into mush when reheating the soup.

Other than that, find some cheap ass variety and boil it with pieces of pork. ham hocks are cheap, i sometimes use bacon.

I like to fry up some ground round with some onion and garlic, add cumin, oregano and plenty of hot peppers, and simmer it all together with my beans with a little tomato sauce, it's a nice spicy alternative to plain beans you see

In college my friends and I went to a friend's parents' cabin and played drinking games for an entire day and ran out of booze on the second day. Ended up playing king's cup with baked beans. My friend had to drink them.

The septic tank at the cabin started malfunctioning when we were about to leave.
